This is a dwarf hamster and it will weigh up to an ounce once an adult. They are quite an amusing sight once you seen it and we were hooked on hamsters every since. My son and I this morning saw a video of a teacher receiving a hamster as a gift from her class of grade school children they had fallen in love with this adorable creature. The teacher became disgusted and revolted stomping on the bag containing the hamster to our horror as will as the horror of the children video taped in the film. The moral of the story is hamsters don't get respect each and every time just because they were born cute. Life is not always fair.
