Richard Dreyfuss The Actor

The movie Stand By Me produced in 1986 shows Richard Dreyfuss acting the part of a grown man writing about his youth and the ones he grew up with; he writes a diary or journal saying the ones he grew up with as a child and the friends he's made will be a short duration in his life and the chances he will grow apart not ever seeing his buddies as we go our own ways in this fast moving society in this industrialized world. For many of us this so very true. For decades for more than a quarter century the youths I had grown up with had gone their own ways never to be seen again until most recently. Call it an informal reunion call it what you will but I did the unusual and looked up some of my old buddies and not so much old buddies but mostly I confess it was good for linking up hooking up making contact even if only by phone or e-mail I was pleased to know an achievement had been accomplished by simply looking up these long ago friends. I did not have to do the Bill Gates thing and make a billion dollars to feel this well being but simply look up an old familiar friend even though it was for the first time in some thirty five or forty years later. Stand by me oh oh stand by me.
